In light of the country-wide heatwave, Punjab’s Health Department said a health caution for students in a statement.
According to the advice, the Health Department has suggested that schools and colleges open and close earlier than usual spare pupils from the heat.
The Health Department has also requested that schools postpone their sports periods until the heatwave ends. In addition, according to the new directive, students should be seated in classrooms with enough ventilation.
Emergency aid stations will be put up in schools and colleges so that pupils may stay hydrated all day. In addition, students who become unwell due to the extreme heat can receive treatment at the assistance stations.
There is now a severe heatwave sweeping over Pakistan, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).
Islamabad, upper Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit Baltistan, Azad Jammu, and Kashmir are expected to continue 7-9°C above normal daytime temperature. In upper Sindh, central Punjab, and most Balochistan, daytime temperatures will stay 6-8°C above average.
