M-Tag Registration Process for M2 Motorway
To collect toll plaza taxes in Pakistan, the motorway authority has adopted the latest M-Tag Registration Process for M2 Motorway 2022.

Through MTag Registration, you can get an M-Tag for your vehicle while traveling on Motorway M2. The process is very simple and free. We have included its step-by-step instructions as well as its video explanation on this page.
The checkpoint (toll plaza) welcomes us when we attempt to cross the motorway, and we must pay the GST according to the type of vehicle. This manual procedure takes several minutes and causes the cars to queue.
This is why the digital system will create an account for your car in the motorway database. You only need to load your account frequently so that the scanner automatically deducts your GST whenever you travel on the motorway.
M-TAG Registration Method
A car owner only needs to drive their car to the toll plaza on the M2 motorway. You need to provide your CNIC, car registration book, model details, and phone number. You will be registered automatically once your data is entered into the motorway database.
The agents give you an M-TaG (sticker), which you must stick to the top center of your windscreen. This takes up to a minute. Scanners then scan the sticker (QR Code). Your toll plaza bill is automatically deducted from your account after the machine scans.
Once the balance falls below the GST, you are stopped by the motorway authority and must recharge via (motorway checkpoints or JazzCash App) without being taxed.
M-TAG UNIQUE ID (QR CODE)
A QR Code is generated by MTag and each code is unique. Therefore, a unique ID is given to each car to be scanned each time the scanner reads the QR Code.
It generates the toll plaza e-bill by automatically processing the car number plate, registration, and car type.

Register for free at the toll plaza with your CNIC and Car Registration. The first code will be given free of charge, and the second code will be given for Rs 200.
HOW TO CHECK YOUR M-TAG ID?
To find out your car’s M-Tag ID, send an SMS with this format “MTAG <space> CNIC Number” to 9909 for free.
HOW TO LOAD BALANCE IN MTAG?
In order to travel on M2, you must have enough balance in your M-Tag to load it (recharge it). You can load your account online or by visiting a toll plaza center physically.

M-TAG ONLINE REGISTRATION LINK
M-Tag Car Registration requires that all letters and numbers be capitalized. There are different toll plaza taxes depending on the vehicle type. In general, cars pay low taxes and trucks pay high taxes.

LAST DATE TO TRAVEL WITHOUT M-TAG ON MOTORWAY
The last date for travel on M2 (Lahore to Islamabad) is 7 December 2021. In order to travel further, you must display your M-Tag code on your car mirror after this date. In any other case, you will not be allowed on the M2 motorway.
